Philosophy of Care

I believe that the body has the capacity to heal itself, and that the role of the doctor is primarily as a guide and teacher. The “hands-on” care that I provide serves as the catalyst for healing and helps get patients moving in the right direction. But long-lasting health occurs when the patient understands what caused their condition and learns how to change the environment that gave life to their problem.
My goal with each patient is to help solve their healthcare problems as quickly as possible so that they can get back to enjoying life.
These principles are the foundation of my practice:
- Treat each patient as an individual with unique needs and goals
- Encourage patient involvement and feedback
- Teach skills for self-care and to maintain wellness
- Integrate clinical expertise with most current evidence from research
- Work with other healthcare providers, if needed, to enhance patient care and healing
- Help patient become self-sufficient and independent of my care
